Bike & Hike

This season in Borovets resort you are having the opportunity to choose among 10 pathways suitable for bicycle riders with total length of over 60km. These are natural mountain pathways in the forest, groomed before each season but with no further daily maintenance. They are suitable for cycling fans – beginners, families and advanced bikers who want to enjoy long rides. The cycling pathways are often shared routes as hiking tourists use them as well.

* Attention: Please be advised that by entering the territory of National Park Rila you will need to abide by all the rules and restrictions applying to the preserved territory of the park. Before entering the territory of NР Rila we advise you to get acquainted with the rules of conduct in the park and follow them strictly.

Bike & Hike #1

 Difficulty Level: Difficult/ Advanced

Length: 10500 m.
Top point altitude: 2369 m.
Bottom point altitude: 1330 m.
Elevation: 1039 m.

The pathway begins at the top station of the Yastrebets Gondola lift, slopes down to the bottom station of Markudjik 2 ropeway and continues through Musala pathway to end at the bottom station of the Gondola lift.

Length: 6300 m.
Top point altitude: 2369 m.
Bottom point altitude: 1479 m.
Elevation: 890 m.

The pathway begins at the top station of the Yastrebets Gondola lift, slopes down to the top station of Yastrebets Express ropeway, passes by the middle station of the Gondola lift and reaches the bottom section of Popangelov ski slope where it merges with the Jumanji trail.

Top point altitude: 2369 m.
Bottom point altitude 2379 m.
Elevation: 17 m.

The pathway begins from the top station of the Yastrebets Gondola lift, cuts through Markudjik ski center and takes you to Musala Hut.

Top point altitude: 1932 m.
Bottom point altitude: 1755 m.
Elevation: 177 m.

The pathway begins from Sitnyakovo Royal Residence and reaches Chakar Voivoda Hut.

The pathway begins from the top station of Sitnyakovo Express ropeway and evolves along the picturesque Sitnyakovo road.

Top point altitude: 1646 m.
Bottom point altitude: 1323 m.
Elevation: 323 m.

The pathway begins from Sitnyakovo road at the Gvardeyska Polyana area as it goes down on the main route for Chernata Skala /Black Rock/ and reaches the center of Borovets resort.

Top point altitude: 1797 m.
Bottom point altitude: 1706 m.
Elevation: 91m.

The pathway connects Musala pathway with Chakur Voivoda route as it crosses Musalenska Bistritsa river.

The pathway begins at the top station of the Yastrebets Gondola lift, as it follows the pathway to Musala Hut, deviates to Musalenska Bistritsa river and reaches Musala Pathway.

Bottom point altitude: 1342 m.
Elevation: 24 m.

The pathway begins at Hotel Rila, passes by the building of Ex School of Forestry, as it goes down on the main route to Musala Hut and ends at the Chernata Skala /Black Rock/.

Elevation: 814 m.

The pathway begins at the main route to Maritsa Hut at the Chernata Skala /Black Rock/ turnout, following the riverbed of Maritsa River, passes by Maritsa Hut and reaches Zavrachitsa Hut.
