The Chakarovi Festivities are one of the major summer events for the Municipality of Samokov and the region. This year, the traditional gathering will take place on July 22 and 23 at the emblematic Chakarovi Meadows, above the famous Karagyol area in the Rila Mountains. The annual celebration will once again bring together guardians of Bulgarian spirit and enthusiasts of Bulgarian heritage, who will commemorate the deeds of Chakar Voyvoda through reenactments of the battles near Karagyol.

The festival is organized by the Historical Weapons Enthusiasts Club "Chakar Voyvoda" and the Municipality of Samokov, and each year it attracts thousands of people devoted to preserving Bulgarian traditions and spirit. The Chakarovi Festivities begin with the lighting of the hajduk bonfires on the festive evening. The historical battle reenactment is the highlight of the two-day celebration, followed by a traditional kurban (ritual feast) for the health and well-being of all attendees.
